Scholes seeks top four record

Scholes seeks top four record

Paul Scholes says United must deliver against the top teams this season if the Reds are to clinch a 19th title and finally overtake Liverpool in the championship stakes.
He told Sunday's edition of United Review. "I don’t think we’ve been too great against the top teams over the last few seasons.

"There was a time when that was our real strength: beating the best teams and going on to win league titles. It certainly helps to do that, so we have to be aiming to beat Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea more regularly than we have been doing."

But that doesn't mean Scholes expects it to be a walk in the park. "It will be tough. Liverpool have plenty of dangerous players. Steven Gerrard is one of the top players in the world, and Fernando Torres is getting back to full fitness after the World Cup. But hopefully we’ll get the right result."
